Intriguing...

The way human mind operates...The inexorable paths that it goes through, and the morbid machinations it creates in order to achieve any kind of goals it sets...Yet we, who are mere hosts for it only understand and use a poor 9% (ok, give or take a couple of percentage points for some). No wander we are the way we are; underdeveloped. We dare preach against wars, and promote global peace, state that we are civilized, yet we go for war when few oppose even fewer, while the rest remain indifferent in events that if seen clearly are not only disturbing, but alarming to say the least. We demand equality and human rights while we trample everybody else's rights daily. In expression, in life, in opportunities, etc. We do not like images that depict reality because we have forgotten how it is to be poor and helpless. We have forgotten what it's like to struggle not for a new car, or a trendy piece of cloth but for basic needs. We have become victims of our own advance.

I have no stronger example than that of the cell phones. Anyone remembers how we used to meet and find each other when there where no cell phones around? No! Yet we did, quite successfully too. Now, no one is on time, nor is willing to put some effort to find anything...Simple dial, call and follow directions, until you come face to face with your target...And then your mind cries out as loud as it can: IDIOT!!! But it is ignored in the chaos of so many other voices it cries out every millisecond. Voices that if we took the time to filter and listen, we would be far better off.

It is not scary but intriguing because this is how few, which have not accumulated wealth from their past (parents, family, etc.), managed to become millionaires. By using their brain just a tad more from the average human. They chose not to be sloth, but rather be aware, and take advantage every little detail that they identified on human nature. Let's pin point some. Naivety, indifference, jealousy, arrogance, altruism, faith, insecurity. These are some of the many that we carry around and exhibit daily in our lives. And what these more aware humans did? They simply satisfied them, or manipulated them in such manner that yielded profit to them. Not financial necessarily (but most of the times) but political and social as well.

I am not going to write any more, since it will be a waste of energy to attempt to illuminate and analyze the great game which daily takes place on our backs...I will simply urge you to look yourselves in the mirror and assess...Your clothes, your mind, your attitude, your style...Assess your YOU! What comprises YOU...And next time you go out, try to show the tiniest fragment of respect to the living being next to you...You will see that it will be surprised, and most probably retaliate...In any case, you would have become a better person....

Yet somehow I doubt it that there ever will be such a gesture! And this is why it is so intriguing...

Well, I must say that I was impressed by your deep introspections and facility to write in a language other than your mother tongue.
You are not the "average" Greek that I love to "hate". Indeed, you are not.
